Jonnycake Center for Hope, Peace Dale, RI

Deslandes Construction was proud to be part of the renovations of The Jonnycake Center located in Peace Dale, RI.  The goal for the renovation was to provide the center with administrative offices, food pantry, demonstration kitchen and community room while maintaining the historical value of the former school house.  Individual cedar impression shingles were installed to mimic the look of a true shake shingle along with new windows, insulation, mechanicals and an elevator which provided up-to-date amenities.  The original wood wainscoting, trim, hardwood floors, and classroom chalkboards were restored and preserved to create a comfortable community space.
